Tim Keating

Tim Keating, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SCS Renewables, is a proven technology start-up company executive with experience in PV technology, finance, venture investing, computers and internet business models.  He has outstanding positioning and communications capabilities gaining maximum visibility for his businesses by leveraging mass media and internet channels. He has a proven ability to launch and grow businesses from early stage to revenues growth phase with well over $60M in growth capital raised to date.

After completing his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, he joined Intel Corporation. He held the roles of Application Engineering, Product Manager, Product Line Manager and Director of Marketing for the Pentium Processor. Tim also co- led the team that launched the  Pentium brand, Intel’s first microprocessor brand and participated in the conception and  rolled out of the “Intel Inside” branding program.  Tim was promoted to Director of Marketing and Microprocessor Business Management for Europe, Middle East and Africa, relocating to Munich Germany where he managed the Intel Europe Microprocessor business from a $150M a year run-rate to a $1 Billion per quarter run rate. Tim was then appointed Managing Director of Intel Capital Europe where he led a team of 28 investment professionals investing in over 75 new transactions in new media, Internet ventures, optics, computing and networking; returning over 4X cash on cash to Intel Capital.

Tim then relocated to Silicon Valley to participate in the founding of a venture catalyst consulting firm, Nekei Venture Catalysts.  He then joined one of his client companies, ZVUE Corporation, in a turn-around situation as COO.  He revamped the product line, helped raise new funding, and forged content deals with Sony Music and launched several internet web properties. The company was listed on the NASDAQ providing a good return for investors.

Tim was recruited by Skyline Solar as Vice President of Marketing and Field Operations to position and launch Skyline Solar from seed financing through product ramp and three rounds of financing.  He served four years driving new product introduction, certification, solar project development, solar finance and nine PV project deployments across three continents and three countries.

Tim is a noted industry speaker and is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School (PMD) where he was sponsored by Intel Corporation.
